SPORT SCIENCE SPECTRUM is a scholarly journal which aims to familiarize a wide audience of readers with modern trends in the development of science in physical culture and sports. It covers theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of athletes’ training, the latest solutions in human health, innovative approaches to developing fitness and recreation, physical education of various population groups, physical therapy and rehabilitation.
Main objectives of the journal:
- to publish the results of fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of physical culture and sports;
- to highlight modern theoretical, methodological, and practical approaches to the training of athletes of different levels;
- to disseminate scientific knowledge on the preservation and strengthening of human health through physical culture, sports, fitness, and recreation;
- to present innovative technologies and methods in the field of physical education for various population groups;
- to promote modern approaches in the field of physical therapy, rehabilitation, and human performance recovery;
- to facilitate the implementation of research results into the practice of sports training, physical education, and health-improving activities;
- to develop scientific communication among researchers, lecturers, coaches, and specialists in physical culture, sports, and related fields.

History
The journal was established by the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine in 1999 known as Theory and Methods of Physical Education (ISSN 1992-7908 (print); 1992-9331 (online)). It was intended for specialists in physical education and sports: researchers, academic staff of higher education institutions, coaches, postdoctoral, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and athletes.
According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 409 as of 17.03. 2020, the journal was included in the List of professional editions of Ukraine in specialty A7 Physical Education and Sports; according to the Order No. 886 as of 02.07.2020 – in specialty A4 Secondary Education (with subject specializations).

In 2023, the journal was renamed Sport Science Spectrum following modern requirements. It was registered as a media entity (media ID R30-01715) according to the Decision of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine No. 11669 as of 26.10.2023.
