Abstract

Modern challenges, such as increasing morbidity, decreasing physical activity, the need to adapt to new living conditions, require a re-evaluation and reconsideration of the state’s policies regarding the well-being and health of the nation. The effective development of the field of physical culture and sports requires an efficient system for training relevant professionals – managers who should possess knowledge and skills in management, economics, law, psychology, pedagogy, etc. In the context of the innovations in educational legislation, the present study offers a critical review of the strategic documents recently adopted in Ukraine, which serve as the basis for developing and implementing specific measures in the field of physical culture and sports. It aims to ensure an understanding of the foundation for the formation of new approaches to the professional training of sports managers by introducing interdisciplinary educational (scientific) programs in higher education. Objective. Substantiation and development of new approaches to the formation of professional training for managers in the field of physical culture and sports, including the development of educational programs that will meet the contemporary needs of society and the job market. Methods. Analysis and synthesis, comparison and observation, and systematization of sources of scientific and methodical literature and normative legal acts. Results. The formation of the state’s sustainable development policy in Ukraine has been analyzed in the context of the development of education and physical culture and sports as determining factors of national progress and health. The relevance of training competent sports managers and elaborating new approaches to educational programs was identified. An interdisciplinary approach to the development of educational programs and the need for further regulatory support for their implementation was discussed. The challenges facing higher education institutions related to the development and implementation of interdisciplinary programs for training managers in the field of physical culture and sports were outlined.
