ROLE AND PLACE OF THE NATIONAL SPORTS FEDERATION IN THE MODERN SPORTS SYSTEM

The relevance of the study of the role and place of sports federations is due to the need to find optimal models of their activities to maintain a high level of mass sports, promote the development of sports of higher achievements and strengthen the international sports image of the State. The aim is to analyze the role of national sports federations in the modern sports system and identify ways to optimize their activities in conditions of dynamic change. The article examines the functional aspects of the activities of national sports federations, their influence on the formation of national sports policy, and interaction with other sports entities. It is emphasized that federations are key actors in the development of sport, performing an intermediary function between the State, athletes, sports organizations and international structures. Their activities cover a wide range of tasks, from organizing sporting events to implementing innovative approaches in the training process. The study is based on a comprehensive and systematic combination of theoretical research methods, in particular, on the analysis of professional scientific and methodological literature and documentary materials, as well as regulatory documents. The work applies a systematic approach which made it possible to consider national sports federations as an element of an integrated sports management system, taking into account their interaction with state and international organizations. The results. It is found that national sports federations perform a multifunctional role, in particular, they ensure the development of rules and standards for sports disciplines, organize competitions and training camps, support the training of national teams and popularize sports among various segments of the population. National sports federations also actively cooperate with international organizations, promoting the integration of national sports into the global context and compliance with anti-doping standards and the implementation of programs to ensure fair play. In general, national sports federations are the backbone of a country’s sports system, ensuring its stability and development. They contribute to the achievement of high sports results, the formation of a positive image of the country and the unification of society through sport.
